About Us

Hart's Nursery is located south of Hwy. 9 in Bushnell, IL. We are situated on 10 acres at the south edge of town. We currently have 9 greenhouses, and have remodeled our store this spring by adding the perimeter awning, with finishing touches still to be completed! We have the largest plant selection in this area, with 1000's of perennials and shrubs for both sun and shade. Included in our perennial selection are over 100 varieties of hosta and over 40 varieites of ornamental grass. We also have 1000's of trees to select from, including shade and ornamental trees and dwarf fruit trees. There are 3 exhibition water gardens and numerous other exhibition gardens to browse through. We get new things all throughout the year, including Snow Pansies and the Fall Magic Collection in the fall! If you've never been to Hart's Nursery, it's worth your while to stop by and see what we've got to offer! Jeff Vancil
Owner
Responsible for landscape and watergarden designs. Illinois certified chemical applicator for turf, ornamental and right-of-way areas,and of Mauget tree injection chemicals. Illinois Green Industry Association certified nurseryman in trees and shrubs.

Pam Vancil
Owner
Oversees Nursery/Garden Center operations. Illinois certified chemical operator and Illinois Green Industry Association certified nurseryman in perennials.
Retired Volleyball Coach - staff loves what this brings to the nursery.

Heather Powell
Store Manager and Certified Chemical Applicator in turf, ornamental and right-of-way. In charge of retail sales and greenhouse production. Assists in purchasing and scheduling greenhouse stock and store inventory.

Doug Milby
Landscape forman and Lawn care Applicator. He is a certified chemical applicator in turf, ornamental, and right-of-way. Doug is in charge of turf renovation bids and assists in landscape site evaluations. Directs the installations of landscapes, hardscapes, and watergardens.

Ginger Smith
Certified Illinois Chemical operator in turf, ornamental, and right-of-way. Graduate of University of Illinois in Horticulture. Is involved with both greenhouse and nursery stock production. Sales associate at garden center specializing in trees and shrubs.
